Fifteen years of PHP, Drupal and Go — from custom modules and Magento storefronts to Elasticsearch-backed search and cloud microservices.
I build the parts of the web that have to keep working — content platforms, storefronts and the services behind them. Most of that time has been spent in PHP and Drupal, from custom modules and migrations through every major version from 6 to 9, with a decade of it on Clutch.co, where millions of company profiles have to stay searchable and quick. Alongside that I write Go: microservices talking over gRPC, Elasticsearch-driven search, and cloud workloads on Google Cloud. I still enjoy the frontend end of the job too — Magento theming, Sass, and interfaces that behave on every screen. What I care about most is code that the next developer can read, and systems that stay calm under load.
